'Dog days are over F8a'
Gower sport climbing has boomed over the past few years with venues being brought up to date via some re-bolting plus new venues being equipped. So much work has been done over the past few years that there is know a downloadable guide by RockFax highlighting the many crags dotted along this idilic coast line. One of the main pioneers of this new wave of development is Martin Richards who along with Andy Sharp have adding many 3star routes to the already abundant list. Martin has just succeeded on his latest project a diagonal line through some steep terrain at Deborah's Zawn. This Venue now has 8 routes from F7a - F8a and has to be one of the finest developments over the past few years.

3years ago South Wales climber Alan Rosier stumbled across the old sandstone quarry of Crymlyn. He instantly saw the value of the venue for climbers and along with a small team of local climbers, developed the venue into an extensive area with around 60 recorded climbs spread across the grades. Whilst on a sport climbing trip to Kalymnos he and Make the next move coach Simon Rawlinson got chatting about climbing in South wales and a story of 'The Clart Mountain Project' was told.
